New Trend in Ridge Augmentation: Osseodensification
The lecturer describes a new ridge augmentation technique that is an alternative option to address atrophic ridges without the use of block grafts. The merits of osseodensification are discussed and illustrated via clinical cases with narrow ridge defects. The biology and evidence supporting this novel technique are discussed, highlighting a treatment modality that carries reduced co-morbidities to the patient, when compared to autogenous block grafts.
At the end of this Congress Lecture you should be able to…
- describe the process of osseodensification
- recognize the merits and limitations from using this new ridge augmentation technique
- understand the clinical and biological process behind osseodensification
