About the Scholarship Center NTUH

About the Scholarship Center

National Taiwan University Hospital (NTUH) is one of the best universities with clinical facilities in Asia. Since 1895, NTUH has been delivering care grounded in leading-edge research, advanced treatment offerings and the latest clinical trials.

Our faculty has received clinical and research training from top tier institutes across the globe and provides solid training to foster future leaders in implant surgery and research. Training in clinical implantology at NTUH includes state-of-the-art multidisciplinary implant treatment planning that integrates the expertise of periodontists, prosthodontists, orthodontists, and oral and maxillofacial surgeons. The dental faculty has published numerous scientific articles in journals including the New England Journal of Medicine, Journal of the American Medical Association, the British Medical Journal, Journal of Clinical Periodontology, Journal of Dental Research, Journal of Periodontology and Oral Oncology.

With our expertise in implant dentistry, we aim to provide ITI Scholars with the best possible education. Through strong inter-departmental collaboration between periodontics, prosthodontics, orthodontics and oral-maxillofacial surgery, we have not only incorporated state-of-the-art Navident computer-aided implantology, laser-assisted peri-implant disease management, digital dental technology such as CAD/CAM systems, and periodontal microsurgery, but have also been actively conducting research in fields including osseointegration, peri-implant disease management, and guided bone regeneration surgery facilitated by 3D printing of bony defects. Overall, we are dedicated to working proactively on advancing the field of implantology and relevant areas of investigation and identifying gaps in current knowledge.

Throughout our history, we have successfully developed protocols for digital-based treatment planning and outcome prediction for full mouth and craniofacial reconstruction, dynamic navigation- and laser-assisted implant surgery, laser-assisted management for peri-implantitis, implant-assisted anchorage for multidisciplinary orthodontic treatment, implant-assisted removable partial dentures for medically compromised patients with mucosal diseases, osteonecrosis of the jaw, and/or oral cancer, all with satisfying long-term outcomes.

By participating in and contributing to intensive combined meetings between periodontists, prosthodontists, and orthodontists, as well as actively making use of the learning environment at NTUH, prospective Scholars will learn how to independently develop comprehensive treatment plans for all aspects of implant dentistry. We cordially invite Scholars from all specialties who are looking to advance their career in implant dentistry to join us.
