Dr Howard Gluckman completed his training at the University of Witwatersrand in Johannesburg in 1990. He completed a degree in Oral Medicine and Periodontics at the Stellenbosch University, with distinction.

He was involved in the development of the postgraduate diploma in Implantology at the University of Stellenbosch and the University of Western Cape. He is in full time private practice in Cape Town. He is the director of the Implant and Aesthetic Academy, which provides postgraduate training in Implantology, which is accredited by the University of Frankfurt.

Dr Gluckman is currently president of the South African Society for dental Implantology as well as a member of the Cape Society for Dental Implantology. He is the past secretary of the South African society of Periodontics. He has lectured extensively nationally and internationally and is a member of Dentsply Master Speakers Program.
