Digital Surgical Planning
This lecture deals with digital implant planning, which includes prosthetic and radiographic planning of optimal implant position and fabrication of surgical guides. Concept of reverse digital planning is presented with explanation of steps from initial examination to delivery of final prosthesis. Differences and potential pitfalls in the planning process for specific indications are presented. Among other advantages, digital planning might offer more secure implant placement in challenging anatomical situations and also reduces surgery time, but importance of precise execution of all phases and potential errors and complications are also presented.
