Curriculum Vitae

João Paulo dos Santos Tondela is Assistant Professor at Faculty of Medicine of University of Coimbra (FMUC) since 2015.

His PhD degree on Prosthodontics and Occlusion (Fixed Prosthodontics) was obtained at University of Coimbra.

He is teaching Fixed Prosthodontics and Implantology in the Integrated Master in Dental Medicine and in Post Graduate Course of Prosthetic Oral Rehabilitation of FMUC.

He is integrated member and research unit coordinator of the Center for Innovation and Research on Oral Sciences (CIROS).

He is founding member of three scientific societies (SPED/SPERO - Portuguese Society od Esthetics and Oral Rehabilitation, SOPIO - Portuguese Society of Osseointegration and SPMD2 - Portuguese Society of Digital Dentistry) and presently is vice-president of SOPIO.

He is director of the Coimbra StudyClub of the International Team for Implantology.

He is invited Professor of the University Master on prosthetic Rehabilitation of CESPU and invited speaker of the post-graduated course on Oral Implantology of CESPU.

He is dentist, certified on Oral Implantology since 2011 by the European Association of Osseointegration (EAO).

He is clinics director at private practice in Dentistoral Médica (Coimbra) and director for Implantology at Centro on Oral Implantology and Orthodontics of Viseu (CIOV).

He was elected as "personality of the year on Implantology" by the 2015 Oral Health Awards.

He is ITI Fellow since 2009 and Fellow of the International College of Dentistry (ICD) since 2017.
