ITI Education Week Shanghai dec 2 - 6, 2024
Future-proofing the digital workflow: Static, dynamic, and robotic
Course information
This five-day ITI Education Week, held at Shanghai Ninth People’s Hospital (Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine), is designed for clinicians with experience in the field of implant dentistry at the advanced level who seek to make a successful and efficient transition towards a digital workflow. The program focuses on the application of cutting-edge digital technologies in implant surgery (e.g., dynamic computer-assisted and robotic-assisted conventional and zygomatic implant surgery, artificial intelligence for guided implant planning). The course will be engaging and interactive, utilizing evidence-based lectures, teamwork with case presentations and discussions, live surgery, and hands-on simulation practice. This program will offer every participant the opportunity to approach each theme from different angles and actively engage within a dynamic learning environment.

Learning objectives
- Efficient implementation of implant surgery in the comprehensive digital workflow
- The surgical – restorative interplay and design principles
- Step-by-step treatment planning, design, fabrication and efficient use of static surgical guides
- Step-by-step treatment planning, setup, calibration, registration and efficient use of a dynamic navigation system: from single tooth to fully edentulous cases
- The potential of zygomatic implants with dynamic navigation as a method to treat severely atrophic edentulous maxilla
- The potential of a robotic system in daily implant procedures
- Static, Dynamic and Robotic CAIS: Which works best for you? A critical appraisal of potential and limitations of each workflow, in relation to the clinical setup and patients’ needs.
Course details
The Education Week in Shanghai will cover, in detail, advances in and application of digital implant dentistry. Lectures will focus on basic concepts and step by step operations for recent digital advancements (static computer-assisted vs. dynamic computer-assisted implant surgery), leading into demonstrations of the use of dynamic navigation systems in single Implant placement in the esthetic zone and zygomatic implant placement in the fully edentulous maxilla. The course also includes hands-on sessions to practice the planning process and place implants in models.
Lectures
- Digital implant dentistry: Know-how & Scientific basis • Freehand vs. Static guided vs. Dynamic guided surgery
- Digital revolution in implant planning • Digital workflow for static and dynamic guided implant surgery
- Digitally driven surgical, prosthetic, and esthetic planning for single and multiple missing teeth
- Navigation setup, calibration, and registration processes in the posterior zone
- Facially and functionally driven digital workflow for terminal dentition and complete edentulism • Navigation for tilted implants in the presence of advanced bone atrophy
- Implant navigation for the management of maxillary or mandibular defects
- Navigation related complications and its treatment
- Robotic implant surgery: history, development and its reality
