Curriculum Vitae

I was always interested in biology, physiology and the way everything works. I qualified from the Dental School of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 1994 with honours. I continued my studies at Tufts University, Boston, U.S.A. where I completed an Advanced Education Programme in Prosthodontics (1997) and acquired a Master of Science degree (1998). I completed my postgraduate studies with a PhD degree from Aristotle University (2001). Most recently (2018) I became a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) in recognition of my teaching methods and processes.

I served as an Assistant Professor in Prosthodontics at the Dental School of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. Life brought me to London in 2012 and, after serving as Associate Professor for 7 years, I am now Professor and Chair of Prosthodontics at UCL Eastman Dental Institute. I am also an Honorary Consultant at the Royal ENT and Eastman Dental Hospital, as well as the Director of the Master in Clinical Dentistry Programme. I have a passion for clinical dentistry and teaching. I am always happy to see colleagues who I have taught in the past flourish in their careers.

I have authored and co-authored a number of scientific papers published in international peer-reviewed journals, and have headed several past and current research projects in the field of Prosthodontics, Implants and Esthetic dentistry.

I strongly believe that you cannot teach clinical dentistry unless you practice it at a high level.

I have been in private practice since 2000 and since 2013 I am an Associate at Harley Street Oral Reconstruction Centre. My clinical practice involves all aspects of dentistry with an emphasis on Restorative, Esthetic and Implant Dentistry.

I am currently registered with the GDC, in the Prosthodontics specialist list, and I am also on the list of recognized specialists in Prosthodontics issued by the European Prosthodontic Association. I am also a registered Speaker and Fellow for ITI, a member of the International College of Prosthodontists, the Academy of Osseointegration, the European Prosthodontic Association, the British Society of Prosthetic Dentristry, the Cochrane collaboration Oral Health Group, the IADR, and an affiliate of the European Academy of Esthetic Dentistry.
