Intraoral Scanning - Congress Lectures - Home
Intraoral Scanning
This lecture considers the intraoral scanner in the context of both the clinical/laboratory digital workflow and the current dental technology industry. Challenges facing the dental technology industry include shrinking numbers of trained technicians and an aging workforce. Moreover, current and emerging materials require a digital environment.
This lecture outlines how scanners fit into the digital workflow and describes other ways that scanners could be used in daily dental practice. Dr. Gratton also discusses use of intraoral scanners, cone beam computed tomography and extraoral scanners in view of the SAC classification of clinical cases. Finally, the lecture describes a new implant impression workflow that uses ‟3D in motion“ video technology.
At the end of this Congress Lecture you should be able to...
- describe the crisis the dental technology industry is facing and the role of the intraoral scanner in the context of that crisis
- explain the role of the intraoral scanner within the digital workflow
- describe a new implant impression workflow
